Case Study Number One
Devon Corporation Feb. 2002 - October 2003
LomenCor was approached to assist the project team on
the installation of Qbyte Exploration and Production
Financial Management System (Qbyte FM)for Devon Corporation
in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The
Challenge: Maintain Devon's existing PW*Sequel 2000
until completion of installation of Qbyte FM while developing
documentation of E-Load system and training staff for
go live May 2002.
The
Result: LomenCor created document test plans and co-ordinate
staff for testing and execution of tests for upgrades
subsequent to May 2002. LomenCor's prior experience
with Qbyte was frequently called on for problem solving
and solutions to changes in the business process for
a variety of difficulties along the way.
LomenCor
assisted Devon with the development of new month end
procedures and report writing for Qbyte FM. As well,
LomenCor developed a database from Qbyte Production
Management System (Qbyte PM or PACs) that allowed for
retention of royalty payments settlements data by accounting
period, production period, royalty owner and product!
Case Study Number Two
BP Canada January 2001 - February 2002
LomenCor was approached to assist the project team on
the installation of Qbyte Exploration and Production
Financial Management System (Qbyte FM)for BP Canada
in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The
Challenge: BP Canada required LomenCor to develop a
replacement for the company's journal entry upload system,
create documentation of the new system and train all
staff.
The
Result: The system was developed and training sessions
were held. LomenCor coordinated the testing team (Subject
Matter Experts - SMEs), test planning and execution
of tests. We coordinated a test lab and testing was
done from staff locations. LomenCor documented new month
end procedures and provided training to co-ordinate
month end activities. Because of the changes in business
processes required by the new system, LomenCor's expertise
provided a variety of solutions to problems encountered
by BP Canada. On an ongoing basis, LomenCor has assisted
BP Canada with improving the joint interest process,
including overhead, allocations and DOIs.
